Complete 22-volume set, comprising Volumes I–XXI and Volume XXII (Indexes). Internally, the volumes range from Near Fine to Fine, with clean, exceptionally well-preserved pages. The leather bindings range from Fair to Very Good, with most presenting as Very Good. Exterior wear includes rubbing, scuffing, cracking to the leather, and occasional losses at the spine ends. Several volumes exhibit more substantial leather loss, particularly near the heads of the spines, as shown in the photographs. The gilt spine lettering and decorative tooling remain attractive throughout the set. Despite the varying exterior condition, the interiors are remarkably well preserved.
This is a registered, numbered Memorial Edition, with the limitation certificate identifying the set as Copy No. 93, registered in the name of Le Roy Z. Wilson. The certificate bears the handwritten signature of the secretary of The National Alumni. This is a publisher’s certification signature, rather than an autograph of one of the historians or editors. The edition was issued as a companion to the registered Memorial Edition of The Great Events of the Great War. The volumes feature decorative leather bindings in alternating colors, elaborate gilt spine tooling, illustrations, historical reproductions, maps, chronological references, bibliographies, and extensive indexing. The complete set presents a chronological account of world history, beginning with the ancient civilizations and continuing through 1914.
