This is Glückauf: A First German Reader, by Margarethe Müller and Carla Wenckebach, both professors of German at Wellesley College, published by Ginn and Company. Based on the title page crediting Müller as \"Professor Emeritus,\" this copy is from a later printing, likely 1920s. The book includes German text with an English introduction and vocabulary section, illustrated throughout, designed for first-year German students. A great piece for anyone studying German language history, vintage textbooks, or Wellesley College material. Inside the front cover is a wonderful red-printed ex libris bookplate with a student\'s handwritten name, school name, and address, adding a real slice of American school life from the mid-20th century. Board of Education stamp also visible.
