For sale is an original Russian ballistic vest used by SOBR (Специальный Отряд Быстрого Реагирования), the Russian special forces equivalent of Western SWAT units.
The vest was manufactured in Russia in the early 2010s and features full Kevlar ballistic protection all the way around, offering protection against fragmentation (grenade splinters and shrapnel) as well as pistol calibers.
It also comes with ballistic steel plates designed to withstand standard Russian rifle cartridges, including 7.62×39 mm (AK-47).
Together, the Kevlar backing and steel plates provide a significantly higher level of protection. The plates are constructed to stop heavier rifle ammunition, including 7.62×54R as used in the SVD Dragunov sniper rifle and PKM machine gun. The vest was manufactured in 2011 by the Russian company NPP KIASS better known as Classcom.
Also included: shoulder protection with Kevlar lining and the original factory packaging. Note the patch is not included.
