BINDING: Grey printed wraps. .Known today (but not in 1962) as Santa Clarita Valley, the detailed report covers oil production (the first commercial oil well in California was in Newhall), fault lines, and fossil evidence. Several large folding plates detail a fossil study, test wells, and finally, a general geological map of the region. The color geology map is fantastic and would be endlessly entertaining for a local historian or fossil hunter.
