Gorgeous primitive hand-signed Helen Hume folk art stave bucket - one of a kind! Handmade bucket has wonderful details, with metal brimming, slatted wood construction, and features a whimsical red bird and flowers. Artist signature is near base band and the original paper label (dating to late 1940s-1950s) is intact on the underside. Helen Hume was an art teacher, author, and folk artist who hand-painted one-of-a-kind stave buckets, baskets, wooden buttons, and home decor items in Bradford, Pennsylvania. In good vintage condition.Two rope handles are intact and functional. Bucket has typical wear commensurate with its age. A lovely piece, perfect for decorating and home storage (we kept yarn in ours).
