Description

Fender Japan ST72-55 (CST-50M) with Monty's Guitars '69 Stratocaster Pickups Set This is a Stratocaster with an M serial number and "MADE IN JAPAN" marking, manufactured between 1992 and 1993. Assembled by Fujigen, it maintains consistent quality and high cost performance while achieving modern playability suitable for various styles.

The "ST72-55" is a model that reproduces the 1970s Stratocaster, featuring a large headstock, 3-bolt neck joint, and bullet-type truss rod nut. The neck pocket is marked "CST-50M".

It uses the classic wood materials of an ash body, maple neck, and 21-fret maple fingerboard. The controls are simple: a 5-way selector switch with 1 volume and 2 tone controls.

The bridge pickup does not have a tone control. (Please note that the original pickup is not included.) Monty's Guitars is a high-end pickup brand from London, UK. Founder Matt Gleeson thoroughly analyzed vintage pickups and reconstructed the tones for modern players, delivering top performance across genres.

The '69 Stratocaster set is a faithful reproduction of a late 1960s Stratocaster pickup. Based on a particularly rare vintage 1969 Stratocaster pickup, it has been physically recreated to be as close to the original as possible.

The resulting sound is exceptional. Particularly distinctive are the glass-clear highs and understated mids.

This allows for both a pure clean tone and an edgy, aggressive drive. Imagine the sound of Jimi Hendrix; that's the world of this pickup.

After Fender was acquired by CBS in 1965, several cost-cutting measures were implemented in the pickups. Features include the use of thin magnets without bevels (chamfered edges) and a design that reduces the number of windings to make the coil thinner.

These specifications resulted in a pure and delicate high-frequency brilliance. Monty's "'69" set faithfully reproduces these specifications.

And, like the original, this pickup also uses lacquer potting. Instead of the usual wax dip, the coil is sealed with a very thin layer of lacquer.

This makes the majority of the coil's interior wax-free, resulting in surprisingly dynamic and responsive characteristics. [Accessories] Soft case (tremolo arm and back panel missing) [Appearance/Condition] There is some tarnishing of the parts, as well as signs of use such as minor scratches and dents. The wiring has been changed and the pickguard has been repaired due to the pickup change.

The nut has been replaced and the saddle has been modified. [Truss Rod] Plenty of adjustment remaining [Frets] Approximately 60% remaining (no impact on playability) [Neck] Straight [Nut Width] Approximately 42mm *Regarding the truss rod, for product protection reasons, we only check up to approximately 45 degrees in both the tightening and loosening directions. (When "Plenty of adjustment remaining" is indicated, it means there is 45 degrees of adjustment remaining in both directions.)
