NOTE- the below extras due make it a MUCH LONGER PROCESS for us, but saves you a ton of time and frustration doing the job, also greatly reducing the risk of damaging components..
EXTRA- 1st we keep the bolts captive where they belong, so assembly is easy. Others give you a bag with a myriad of bolts that are a headache to match up- even for us.
EXTRA- We include The powerpack and the coils. This ensures the magneto MATCHES the pin outs of the powerpack and coils.Your components may match up and your welcome to use them or keep them for spares. From 1977-on spark output is the same.
Others don't include the aforementioned... OMC changed these over the years, so you can be stuck with an incompatible ignition system in the middle of doing the job.
That said, If you send us the model number, we may be able to save you a few bucks by using your existing coils/powerpack.
Extra- The factory routing between the neutral switch and the starter is terrible and runs ABOVE the block-BARELY MISSING THE FLYWHEEL!We custom make a longer #10 wire, so routing is easy under the carb- or under the head, your choice. We don't disturb the delicate Positive+ connector at the starter (too easy to break) to make up the longer wire.
Extra- We leave the screws (obvious) loose at the neutral safety switch and these are the wires that get easily routed, taking out the guesswork.
EXTRA- We keep ALL the connections intact when you receive it, so it's easy to know where all the wires attach.
EXTRA- We include a NEW BRP Bypass cover gasket saving to time and money. Unlike others, we take the time to remove the old gasket material from the starter holding bypass cover (some are Very stubborn) so just bolt it up, saving upwards of an hour of gasket prep on the cover.
TIP- The engine ground wire mounts on a bracket somewhat under the manual recoil starter which is a pia.If preferred the wire can be grounded/mounted to the front hand hold port side underside(for appearance).We include the longer bolt with nut, a wire strain relief, for a Pro job.Just ensure the bracket metal is clean for a good ground.
We also include a battery cable strain relief with special bolt that mounts to the inside port transom bracket, again for a pro Job.
