Emotions and Bodily Changes is the great work of psychosomatic medicine written in 1935 by H. Flanders Dunbar. See Wikipedia for a biography of this fascinating scientist. She was among the first psychiatrists to study psychosomatic relations--how emotions and the body interact. This book (that went through three later editions) set the basis for that study.
This copy of the book is like new. The cover and spine are not bumped and show almost no handling. The title/author/publisher on the spine are flawless, as is the embossed colophon on the front cover. The paper of the front hinge is torn, but there is no damage to the threads and no separation from the spine. The text block is solid. I found no marks other that the name \"Richardson\" on the front end paper and \"Stockbridge\" on the front free end paper, along with two marks soon in the photo. There are no marks on the pages or rear end pages.
The dust jacket (see the last three photos) is complete, but there are several small tears at the bottom of the front and at the top of the spine. The name \"Richardson\" is written on the dj in the same hand as in the book.
