Up for sale a beautiful oil painting on panel (masonite), depicting a Italian landscape-harbor scene. Painting hand signed in the lower left corner, framed in original gilded wood frame.
Condition: Painting is in very good condition, frame has some rubbing. Please check the pictures.

Treviso 1870 - Venice 1955
Born in Treviso in 1870, Mazzetti studied agriculture in Schio and then in Varese before dedicating himself to painting. In 1897 he moved to Venice where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts and followed the courses given by Guglielmo Ciardi and Ettore Tito. He is known as the last of Veneto's Romantic painters in the wake of the late 19th century tradition of Bresolin and Fragiacomo. Mazzetti started participating both in national and international exhibitions in the Nineties. These included the Società Promotrice di Belle Arti in Genua (1892 and 1893) and in Turin (1896), the National Exhibition in Turin (1898), and the Società degli Amatori e Cultori in Rome (1893, 1895 and 1906). He participated in the Venice Biennale from 1899 to 1914 and then again in 1924. He was quite successful with his genre-paintings and especially with landscapes. He had clearly learnt the lesson of the Veneto lagoon maestros and the poets who not only masterly represented the natural element through accurate observation, but also rendered the feelings and emotions arisen by landscape on canvas. He won the Golden Medal at the International Exhibition in Munich in 1901. Here he returned again in 1903. In the same year he participated in the Regional Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Udine. Here the Fondazione Marangoni bought two of his works which are now in the Modern Art Gallery of the city. Mazzetti participated in numerous exhibitions, also at international level. These included the International Exhibition for the Sempione mountain pass in Milan (1906), the First Treviso Art Exhibition (1907), the First Permanent Exhibition of Venetian Arts and Crafts at Palazzo Pesaro (1908 and 1910), the Turin International Exhibition (1911) and the Tre Venezie Exhibition at Galleria Pesaro in Milan (1917). He started going to Cortina d'Ampezzo from the Twenties. Here he exhibited and met Mario Rimoldi who bought two oil paintings, Paesaggio con Pini e Natura mosrta, around 1938. Mazzetti concentrated on landscapes and still-lives, after abandoning genre-painting. He continued to participated in numerous exhibitions until the Fifties. The Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa invited him to hold a personal exhibition in Venice in 1951 and again in 1953. He died in Venice in 1955.
