How to replaceA Cooling Fan:

1. Disconnect Power

• Use a wrench to disconnect thenegative battery terminal.

• Key detail: Wrap the disconnected cable end with a cloth or tape so it doesn't accidentally spring back and touch the battery terminal.

2. Remove the Old Fan

• Unplug theelectrical connector(press the tab—don't just yank it).

• Remove allmounting bolts/clipsand keep them in a safe place.

• Carefullylift outthe old fan.

• Key detail: Be gentle—don't let the fan blades scrape against the radiator fins (those thin metal honeycomb pieces). Bent fins reduce cooling efficiency.

3. Install the New Fan

• Positionthe new fan and align it with the mounting holes.

• Hand-tighten theboltsfirst, then give them a final snug turn with a tool (don't overtighten—plastic brackets can crack).

• Reconnectthe electrical plug until you hear a "click."

• Key detail: Check that wires are routed away from moving parts like belts and away from hot components like exhaust manifolds.

4. Test It

• Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

• Start the vehicle and turn on theA/C.

• Key detail: Watch to see if the fan spins, and listen for any "ticking" or scraping sounds. If you hear something wrong, turn it off immediately and check if a wire or blade is hitting something.
