1927 Cornell Woolrich Wins Magazine Contest Prize Cornell Woolrich, known for his noir literary ability, was awarded the first prize of §lO,OOO for the best story submitted in a competition conducted by College Humor and First National Pictures. \"Children of the Ritz\", the prizewinning novel, wasrun in serial form in College Humor, then be published in book form by Boni & Liveright and finally be screened as a photoplay. Cornell Woolrich was a member of the literary boards of Varsity, Morningside and Jester. He received his first training in Professor Erskine\'s course in advanced prose. His first novel \"Cover Charge\" was written while he was recovering from an illness. He was a member of the Class of 1927. Large issue 131 pages Vintage Ads - There are some clipped pages.
