US Civil War AMES Mfg. Co. Model 1840 Musicians Sword, blade is 29\" OAL, the metal all shows a lacquer coating on it, a dark age patina on the blade showing some age patina. The guard, knuckle bow, and pommel are all tight. The grip handle wiggles just a tad. The ricasso is stamped with AMES Mfg Co. markings with the other side stamped, \"US ADK 1862\", ADK stood for Andrew D. King who was the War time inspector. The knuckle bow is also stamped, with additional inspector stamps of AHC.
The scabbard is missing the brass Locket, still has the chape. Leather shows wear, surface loss, etc. See photos.
