Likely dating from the late 1950s–1960s, it issolidly constructed with exposed interlocking finger-jointed corners and atriple-grooved molded base. The exterior wood has been refinished; the originalhinges and the original tarnish-resistant interior lining show some wearconsistent with age.

This is an authentic estate set with decades of genuine family holiday use. Pieces show light, normal signs of gentle use consistent with age, nothing beyond expected wear for a well-loved silver service. The set has been cleaned using a gentle, non-abrasive electrochemical process to remove built-up tarnish without scratching the silver. It arrives bright and ready to use. Knives: every single knife handle is structurally sound and completely tight – absolutely zero rattling handles. Blades: Ten knife blades show minor surface spotting typical of vintage stainless steel; one has more noticeable pitting and one has some discoloration (see closeup photos). All of this, the spotting and the pitting, was present before cleaning. Light hairline scratches are visible on most blades, consistent with decades of normal use.
