HE WAS A VETERAN AND PROBABLY SERVED IN THE CIVIL WAR. THAT'S A HEX BARREL RIFLE HE'S HOLDING AND MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE ONE HE CARRIED IN THE CIVIL WAR. HE'S GOT A POWDER HORN UNDERNEATH HIS SHOULDER.
