British The Queens Sudan Medal 1896-1898 Hard to Find in Bronze ~ UnnamedThis is a very nice medal and what appears to be a newer ribbon. The condition is as shown in the photos.The bronze Queen's Sudan Medal was authorized in March of 1899.It was awarded specifically to non combatants who participatedin theSudan campaign betweenJune 1896 and September 1898. While combat soldiers of the British and Egyptian armiesreceived the silver version of the medal, the bronze version was restricted to a small number of civilian followers, native bearers, officer's servants,and the Indian Army grooms. Many of the bronze medals were not inscribed with names.Key Facts About the Bronze Medal
