A scarce and highly collectible Pre-War Britains set of Turkish Cavalry, Set No. 71, representing mounted cavalry of the Imperial Ottoman Army.
This is the complete five-figure configuration of Set No. 71 and includes the original Britains box and original fitted retaining insert.

PRE-WAR BRITAINS
This is a Pre-War Britains Set No. 71 Turkish Cavalry set.
The figures display the characteristic early Britains hollow-cast construction, period-correct Turkish cavalry uniforms and equipment, and the distinctive Set No. 71 configuration of four mounted troopers and a mounted officer.
The original box is printed with:
“TURKISH CAVALRY”
“THE IMPERIAL OTTOMAN ARMY”
“Manufactured by W. Britain in London England”
The original retaining insert has five individual figure positions corresponding to the five figures in the set.
CONDITION — FIGURES
The figures are in Very Good to Excellent overall condition for their age.
The original paint is well preserved, with particularly good survival of the dark blue uniforms. There is some expected age-related paint loss, rubbing and minor surface wear.
The figures have not been repainted or cosmetically restored.
The lances and red pennons are present, and the mounted officer\'s extended sabre is present.

CONDITION — ORIGINAL BOX
The original Britains box is included and is an important part of this offering.
The box has substantial age-related wear and is in Fair condition. It has:
- Torn and split cardboard
- Edge and corner wear
- Lid separation/damage
- Crushing and deformation
- General deterioration from age and handling
- Wear and deterioration to the original retaining material
Despite its condition, the original printed artwork and identifying information remain, and the original fitted retaining insert is present.
The box has NOT been repaired, retaped, or cosmetically restored.
For a collector, the original box and retaining insert are an important part of the historical originality of this set.
