I have Icon Adaptive LED headlights — will the adaptive function still work?
The headlights will install and function normally, but the adaptive cornering function will not carry over — no aftermarket headlight replicates BMW's adaptive steering, which requires OEM hardware. If keeping adaptive cornering is important to you, factory headlights are the only way to retain it.

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION STEPS
01 — Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 60 seconds before beginning any work on the lighting circuit.
02 — Open the hood and locate the headlight assembly retaining bolts and clips. Remove any front fascia trim clips required for access on your specific body style.
03 — Disconnect the factory wiring harness connectors by pressing the release tab firmly on each plug before pulling.
04 — Remove the OEM assembly and test-fit the new headlight before final mounting. Reconnect all harness connectors and temporarily reconnect the battery to verify all functions — dual color DRL switching blue accent illumination low beam high beam turn signal and startup animation — before securing any hardware.
05 — Once all functions are confirmed secure all mounting hardware to factory torque specification and reconnect the battery for final check.

BMW gave the 2021 5 Series its best headlight in a decade and left every earlier car looking a generation behind. One note: I left the OEM part numbers section out on purpose.
