The Studebaker Golden Hawk received a whole new mechanic in 1957. The V8 289ci has been added a McCulloh compressor to produce 275hp. The addition of the compressor led to the cutting of the hood with the installation of a fiberglass bump to leave it enough space. Thanks to the compressor, the Golden Hawk could compete with the Chrysler 300B, Ford Thunderbird and Corvette of the time. This car was relatively light, with a transmission to the rear wheels and enjoyed a good power-to-weight ratio.
Auto World replicated the Golden Hawk in the vivid Coppertone Opal paint with black interior. Under the hood is the super-detailed, supercharged 289!
