Difference Between 7th & 8th Generations
When it comes to the 7th and 8th generation iPod nanos, the differences are subtle but important. Both models look very similar, but the 8th generation is the newer and Apple swapped the original seven bright \"jewel tones\" for five subdued metallic colors—gold, silver, space gray, hot pink, and dark blue—alongside the existing Product Red.

- 8th Generation: Updatable to iOS 1.1.2
