Antique French-language Christian devotional book titled “Vers le Ciel”, published by J. H. Jeheber, Libraire-Éditeur, Geneva, Switzerland.The book contains passages from Scripture accompanied by hymn verses for each day of the year and features 12 beautiful full-page color chromolithograph illustrations, one representing each month.An interior handwritten inscription is dated March 10, 1905, confirming the book was already in use by that date. A wonderful example of turn-of-the-century religious publishing with particularly attractive floral chromolithography.Condition: Antique condition with substantial wear to the binding, including spine/binding deterioration and general exterior wear. Interior shows expected age toning, foxing and spotting. All 12 chromolithograph plates are present and retain attractive, vibrant color.
