This antique red and white patchwork quilt features an alternating basket block design with Turkey Red classic printed cotton fabrics, accented with traditional hand-tying rather than dense quilting stitches.Design Pattern: Alternating alternating blocks of pieced flower/fruit baskets with curved appliquéd handles and solid red alternate squares.Construction: Hand-pieced and assembled with visible white tying threads spread across the surface.Fabric Era: The Turkey Red and calico-style patterned cotton prints are characteristic of late 19th American traditional quilting.
Please see the wonderful provenance and also the photos show condition not perfect but it’s old and has been stored as it says on the paper attached - this is the way i found it … the backing is not cotton its so amazing the contrast see photos all original and would have been very fancy from 1890 with this material backing
