Antique Women's Blouse 1920s Victorian ? Prairie Western Handmade Old Early FLAW
This is an estate find and was believed to be from the 1920s but I don't know the exact age or provenance.
The blouse has a hook closure at the neck but I don't see an eye to fasten it to. It is otherwise an open style. It has a lot of pintuck pleating at the shoulders and on the back.
I believe it is cotton but am not certain. The body of the shirt has a jacquard type of print in it and there is a sheer ruffle along the bottom. There are some holes and weak points in this sheer ruffle and some holes and weak points in the body of the shirt as well.
The sleeve cuffs have some long loops/flaps on them and one is detached which is shown in the photos. There is some wear along the sleeve cuffs. There is a dark mark inside the collar. This has been stain treated but the dark mark did not come out.
I would guess this may fit an XS based on the measurements. The construction of this is different than a modern garment where you can measure pit to pit and double it for the chest. The pit to pit across the back of this is only 15" but there is a lot of pleating and extra fabric in the front to account for a bust, so the chest measurement could accommodate more than 30" I believe but that is just a guess.
This has been laundered and does not have any odors.
