Original antique landscape study measuring approximately 8 x 5 inches, depicting a quiet rural scene at dusk with silhouetted trees, distant hills and a softly glowing sky. Executed in muted watercolor/bodycolor tones with wonderful atmospheric depth and period character. Reverse bears a faint handwritten pencil inscription including “May 22” and an indistinct place/date. Light age wear and toning consistent with an antique work on paper.
