A beautiful and wonderfully distinctive Victorian turquoise and seed pearl ring, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1876.The elongated marquise-shaped face is set with two turquoise cabochons at its centre, each with its own subtly different shade of blue-green, surrounded by a border of lustrous seed pearls. Fine gold detailing frames the stones, while the split shoulders continue the elegant shape of the design. At 150 years old, this is a particularly lovely survivor from the Victorian period, with the combination of turquoise, seed pearls and warm antique gold giving it enormous character. The ring is crafted in 9ct gold and carries a clear set of British hallmarks dating it to 1876. There is evidence that the band has been resized during its long life, which is entirely consistent with a piece of this age and is visible in the photographs.Details:Victorian, dated 1876
