The scene features an exquisitely dressed 18th-century gentleman tenderly styling a lady's hair as she sits atop a mossy rock outcrop. A beautifully detailed lute/mandolin rests at their feet alongside hand-modeled porcelain flowers.
The underside of the base features the classic cobalt blue underglaze "beehive" (Bindenschild) mark, highly sought after by collectors of Royal Vienna style decorative arts. Based on the craftsmanship, vivid overglaze enamel coloring, and base design, this piece dates from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
