I love Asian antiques & collectables. I buy as a collector and as a dealer. Items I post are purchased at local estates sale, while traveling and at sale. I will report what I know about an items age, if I don't know I will also make a note of that and leave it up to the buyers who probably know more than me. It seems with Chinese antiques, the more I learn, the less I know - but I do my best to be accurate. That said, let's go!
A wonderful antique Chinese porcelain jardiniere or planter with hand painted plum tree branches and flowers along with 2 magpie birds. I have 2 and maybe they are a pair but I am selling them individually so you are looking at 1 only to buy. I have the other up for sale too, so check it out.
These are from an elderly Japanese lady who received them from her grandmother back in the 60's.
The jardiniere is about 10 3/4" wide at the top and 7 1/4' tall. It weighs 5 lbs 12 oz before packing. See condition reportbelow.
Condition: inside the foot rim there is a flaw due to the kiln or a chip, I am not sure but you can see. Also, inside the rim interior there is a shallow chip as shown and enamel loss on the trees and top rim of the pot. There are 2 old drilled holes on bottom.
