Gorgeous Pre-1900Matched Set of 4 Teacups and 4 Saucers [8 Pieces Total]
Very delicate extremely fine quality porcelain, so fine that you can see your fingers through it if held up to light [ seepic #11]- just beautiful
Design is hand painted and has green leaves and yellow flowers with very beautiful gold trim which is lavishly applied to rims and borders. The gold trim has tiny ivory Moriage beading on it.
Trim along top of cups and edge of saucers has a double waved triangle effect. Really pretty.
Cups are shallow and wide, lovely style, with handles that are molded to look like bamboo.
Saucers are marked JAPAN on the bottomin capital \'antique style\'letters.

No chips, no nicks, no cracks, no scratches, no repairs to any of the 8 pieces. No crazing to glaze or hairline cracks in glaze.Gold trim is VERY gently worn from normal vintage age,NOT worn off. One of the cups has a place on theunderside of the rim where the cup rests that has an uneven spot, this is from the molding process and time of firing and is not damage- it is completely covered with firedglaze.See last pic. One of the cups\' handle is slightly [and I mean SLIGHTLY] bent from time of firing - again, NOT damage- almostimpossible to notice but I do point these things out. Doesn\'t effect how the cup looks or interfere w picking cup up by handle.
This is a very elegant and charmingservice- they just do not make pretty things like this anymore!
Would look lovely on display or in use.
