Beautiful antique ornate cast-metal portrait frame featuring elaborate openwork acanthus leaves, scrolling foliage and a decorative shell-form crest surrounding an oval portrait opening. Finished in an aged gold/gilt tone with wonderful dimensional detail.
The reverse is marked 2225 and retains its backing and metal retaining clips. An old black-and-white portrait photograph of a woman is included, adding authentic period character.
Measures approximately 11¾" tall x 8" wide overall.
