Natural rubies were very hard to come, as they don\'t occur in commercial quantities in the USA. Rubies were in high demand, but rare to find. Ruby was the first synthetic gemstone and it was widely used in jewelry at this time.This ring is accented by a mix of eight natural old mine cut and early old European cut diamonds. My jeweler said that this ring could safely be sized up by one size.
