Antique Silk Parasol for display or repair. This is a gorgeous little parasol (I call it \"Baby\") in black with a black handle, and a tilt-top (marquise) mechanism. I\'m not a parasol expert, but I\'ve seen the mini parasols in fashion plates, probably in Godey\'s Lady\'s Book. So, Civil War to 1880s, sometime in that time frame. Sadly, the silk is split in a few places and needs to be replaced for this to be usable as a parasol. The remaining silk can be used as a pattern, if you re-cover this. I have been careful in handling the parasol, but it opens and closes without issues. Its length is 23.25\" when closed, the spokes are about 9\" and when open, it spans 16\" across measured from spoke to spoke.
