Up for purchase is a magnificent piece of luxury German ceramic artistry: a Meissen Porcelain Oval Covered Serving Tureen in the iconic "Blue Onion" (Zwiebelmuster) pattern.

This exceptional lidded entree dish showcases the breathtaking hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue floral and pomegranate motifs that have made the pattern famous for generations.

This particular piece stands out elegantly because it features a beautifully flared, scalloped pedestal foot base that elevates the main bowl above the table surface, giving it a commanding, stately silhouette. The dish also features a meticulously molded relief border along the inner rim, integrated twin side handles with fan-shell styling, and a beautiful, organically twisted root or branch finial that acts as the lid handle.

Backstamp & Authenticity Details:The underside features the authentic, hand-painted underglaze blue Meissen Crossed Swords mark. Based on the distinctive handle shape, this is a "Knauf-Schwerter" (Button-Swords) mark, dating production firmly to the late 19th Century (ca. 1850–1924). Crucially, the mark is free from any scoring or sanding lines, confirming it is First Quality / First Choice. Incised numeral marks and small painter hallmarks are also present near the rim.
