For sale is an authentic antique Japanese woodblock print by celebrated Meiji-period artist Toyohara Kunichika (1835–1900), known for his dramatic kabuki actor portraits and vibrant color palettes. This print dates to circa 1882 and features a bold portrait with a large dialogue scroll and beautifully rendered costume patterns.
Kunichika was one of the last great Edo–Meiji ukiyo-e masters, highly collected today for his actor portraits. This is an original 19th-century woodblock print, not a modern Toyohara Kunichika (signed 国周)
