$295.00

Magnificent Antique Meiji Period Japanese Satsuma Rectangular Dish by Kinkozan

Add a masterpiece of late 19th-century Japanese craftsmanship to your collection with this stunning, heavily gilded Kyoto Satsuma lobed tray. Hand-painted during the historic Meiji Era, this piece beautifully exemplifies the peak of export art glass and ceramics that fascinated Western collectors during the late Victorian period.

The central rectangular panel showcases a highly detailed courtly or theatrical scene featuring five figures in intensely decorated traditional kimonos. The composition is framed by a luxurious, shimmering border overflowing with complex scrolling vines, floral medallions, and multiple fan-shaped vignettes depicting traditional micro-landscapes.
