4” dExquisite Meiji period cloisonné box. The top features brilliant blooms, foliage, birds, tree, and a babbling brook against a bone white backdrop. The sides feature a multicolored floral pattern and vines against bone white. The bottom features golden scrollwork across a field of green so dark it’s almost black! The interior is gold toned throughout. Under the lid is a bucolic vista of Mt. Fuji with two cranes and a subtle ripple of water. The interior bottom of the box features two more cranes and more subtle ripples of water.Please note: there is the tiniest bit of loss on the bottom of the box (left side… please see picture).
