This is a small but lovely Japanese brass lidded jar, trinket dish, or canister.
It is stamped "Japan" which means it was made prior to 1921.
This belonged to my Mother-in-Law who collected Asian items in 1950-1960.
We inherited this item in 2003 and have displayed it in a cabinet since then.
It is approx: 5 1/2" tall to top of the bird's head.
The diameter is approx. 3".
There is some paint loss on the inside of the lid and a bit of loss on the bird's head.
I am retired, downsizing and moving. That is the reason for all of my listings.
