Beautiful vintage handwoven gathering basket.
This is a handmade basket rather than a modern decorative wicker piece. It features individually worked hardwood splints, a tightly woven rounded bottom, wrapped rim construction, and two rustic bentwood/branch handles.
An unusual maker's mark or initials are impressed into one of the splints on the underside. The mark is visible in the photos but has not been positively identified, so we are leaving attribution to the buyer/collector rather than guessing at the maker.
