A desirable EARLY style featuring the classic Lion–Anchor–G Gorham hallmark with STERLING, rather than the later spelled-out Gorham marking.The knife measures approximately 8 1/2 inches long and features the unusual early “Blunt” shaped silver-plated blade. Blade does have a few marks, but it’s probably salvageable. Period references document 8 1/2-inch Buttercup luncheon knives with this same blunt blade configuration.The hollow handle is sterling silver and displays the beautiful raised buttercup blossoms, leaves and scrolling floral decoration for which this pattern is famous.Maker: Gorham Manufacturing Co.
