This exquisite piece features a stylized Orientalist figure wearing a vibrant green turban, presenting a flat rectangular pen holder, calling card or trinket tray.
Crafted in Germany during the height of the European Orientalist movement, this piece utilizes a premium mixed-media construction designed to emulate luxury Austrian Vienna bronzes. The head is meticulously crafted from a smooth, waxy composite/galalith material to simulate carved ivory, while the main body and tray feature a heavy cast metal with a rich, deep brown natural bronze patina.
The underside is clearly stamped with the curved export mark “MADE IN GERMANY”and retains its original multi-piece hardware assembly, including the central structural loop and pin mechanism.
