This is a beautifully preserved, museum-quality piece of 19th-century German-American religious folk Americana. Dating back to 1882, this is an original Evangelical Protestant Confirmation Certificate from St. Martini Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. The piece remains completely unaltered and unmolested, secured within its original folk-art carved wooden frame behind its original antique wavy glass.

Wilhelm Brüstle, born the 28th of August 1869 in Warsaw Township, after receiving instruction in the Word of God according to the Evangelical Protestant Catechism on Palm Sunday 1882 in the St. Martini Church at Cincinnati, has been confirmed. By your pastor, E. Guentrum, Pastor."

Condition Report
