A beautifully diminutive French portrait miniature depicting an elegant young woman in 18th-century court dress, her powdered curls tied with coral-red ribbon and her gown finished with delicate lace and pearl-like details.
The portrait is exceptionally decorative at this scale. Softly modeled flesh tones and finely drawn hair contrast with the vivid coral gown, while the dark patinated bronze frame provides an especially handsome surround. The frame is finished with a pierced floral and ribbon crest and beaded inner border.
