Lovely antique porcelain spill vase in a Gothic Revival (Neo Gothic) style c 1830
Decorated most possibly by one of the famous French porcelain factories, near Paris, France, such as Dihl and Guerhard and collectively known as Vieux Paris (Old Paris). They produced highly decorative porcelain pieces that mirrored Cathedral architecture
Beautiful high-quality porcelain, lavishly painted with polychrome and gilt
Hexagonal shape, central body divided into vertical sections
Each side is a visual panel with Gothic style cathedral windows with hand painted arches, vibrant faux stained glass panel work and heavy gilded highlights
Intricate Gothic tracery and cathedral archways, heavily embellished with green, pink and yellow
Base with hexagonal plinth and white sculptural lion heads, used to elevate the vase, reminiscent of the Empire style
Excellent condition, little chip on the base, nothing serious, some gilt loss, but considering the age, this does not detract or represents any problem for the beauty of this magnificent vase
