Estate sale find. The frame is amazing!
Antique early 20th-century vignette portrait photograph of an unidentified young gentleman wearing a suit, high-collar shirt, tie, and small lapel pin.
The photograph is displayed beneath glass with a layered gray mat, gold-tone inner trim, and a wide dark wood-grain frame. No photographer, studio, sitter’s name, or date is visible, so the exact age and identity are unknown. Based on the clothing and presentation, I would conservatively describe it as circa 1900–1920.
Approximate framed measurements: 18.5 inches wide x 22 inches tall.
Antique condition with scratches and finish wear to the frame. The back shows substantial peeling and flaking of the old finish or paper covering along the upper edge, exposed framing nails, aged backing material, and an older hanging wire. The portrait and mat show light age-related toning and spotting. Please examine all photographs for exact condition. Sold as found.
