A charming and unusually well-made Dutch miniature oak linen press, dating from the first half of the 19th century.
This beautifully constructed miniature faithfully follows the design of a traditional Dutch linen press. It features a substantial wooden screw mechanism with a turned handle, six removable oak press boards, and a lower cabinet fitted with two drawers.
The warm, richly patinated oak and the carefully made construction give this piece the character of genuine miniature furniture rather than a simple toy. The proportions, working screw mechanism and removable press boards make it a particularly appealing object for collectors of antique miniature furniture and Dutch domestic antiques.
The lower cabinet has two drawers with shaped fronts and small turned wooden knobs, standing on elegant feet. The original construction and aged surfaces show the natural signs of more than two centuries of use.

Condition:Good antique condition, with the expected signs of age and use. The back panel was replaced at some point in the past, and this should be considered part of the restoration history of the piece. The rest of the cabinet retains its attractive antique character and original construction.
