Antique Currier & Ives hand-colored lithograph titled “The Battle of Gettysburg, Pa. July 3rd, 1863.” Published in New York shortly after the historic Civil War battle, the dramatic scene depicts Union and Confederate forces engaged in combat with soldiers, flags, rifles, and artillery.
The lithograph was removed from the frame for inspection, allowing the entire sheet and reverse to be photographed. It is presented under glass with a white mat in an antique wooden frame.
Condition: Water staining, discoloration, toning, spotting, and age-related wear are present on the paper, including areas normally concealed by the mat. The wooden frame has scratches, finish wear, dark marks, and corner/edge losses. Please review all photographs carefully, including those taken outside the frame.
Paper measures approximately 16 × 12 inches. Framed dimensions are approximately 18½ inches wide × 14½ inches high.
