A 19th century French mantel clock dating to the 19th century. The bronze base with hand painted porcelain plaque depicting two cherubs amongst floral garlands against a pink ground. A white enamel dial is issued from the base featuring black hand painted Roman numerals and outer chapter indicating minute marks. The whole surmounted by a twin handled urn finial
The eight-day twin train mechanical movement strikes the hours and half on a bell is complete with pendulum and winding key. The mechanism is stamped by one of the most important 19th century clock makers, Japy Freres.
