Up for sale is a decorative Chinese cloisonné enamel tripod censer (incense burner) featuring floral scrollwork in shades of turquoise, lime green, red, and yellow enamel over a heavy bronze/brass base. The piece is topped with a removable, pierced cast-metal lid crowned with a Foo Dog (Lion) finial. The base features an inset 4-character cast seal mark for Xuande (Xuande Nian Zhi). Apocryphal Marks: Because the Xuande era became famous for fine metalwork and enamel, later makers during the Qing Dynasty (18th–19th century) and subsequent periods frequently copied these marks to honor the classic style rather than to fake an exact date. This piece was
made at some point in The Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
