Beautiful antique-style Chinese blue-and-white porcelain stacking box featuring three individual storage tiers with a coordinating fitted lid. Each section is decorated in rich underglaze cobalt blue with repeating floral and foliate motifs on a white porcelain ground.The piece shows wonderful character throughout, including variation in the cobalt decoration, small firing imperfections, iron spotting, and natural irregularities consistent with traditional porcelain production. The unglazed contact surfaces and foot ring also show age-related wear and discoloration.Closely comparable in form and decoration to documented 19th-century Chinese blue-and-white stacking boxes.
