An unbranded antique bamboo equestrian measuring walking stick which was owned by a Great Great Unclebetween the late 1890s to early 1900s.
Pulling the handle reveals the numbered wooden/brass measure with a brass square shaft which also incorporates the brass shoulder measure. This measuring stick measures up to seventeen hands (plus in metres and inches)
Handle is deer antler. Light weight metal tube (not silver, unsure composition) connects to top of bamboo stick. Metal ferrule is missing base - not sure if it\'s original or the metal type (seems lead like).
