Exceptional antique Austrian 935 silver and guilloché enamel box, dating to the early Art Deco period, circa 1920s–30s. The exterior is covered in rich translucent purple enamel over finely engine-turned concentric wave patterns, bordered by geometric black and white enamel decoration. The lid centers a striking pierced dark metal filigree medallion with Orientalist-inspired lattice and foliate scrollwork.
Approximately 3 1/2" × 2 1/4" × just under 1/2" and a substantial 150 grams gross. Interior is gilded.
Hallmarked 935 with Austrian figural assay mark and AJ maker's mark in an oval; also marked MADE IN AUSTRIA. Maker remains unidentified.
Beautiful antique condition with remarkably well-preserved enamel. Age-related wear, patina and oxidation to exposed metal as shown. Please review photos closely.
