Antique American Revolution Book London Magazine Gentleman\'s Intelligencer 1775 For Sale

Antique, over two and a half centuries old, hardcover book bound in three quarters period leather with marbled coverboards in overall good condition. Book has been fully collated and contains seven of the original copper plate illustrations including the frontispiece illustration at the beginning of the volume and the title page for the volume but is missing the rest of the illustrations called for in the contents of illustrations at the end of the book. Book also has some pages clipped partially or altogether clipped out: In the January issue page leaf 3/4 is clipped out, in the February issue page leaf 51/52 is clipped out, in the April issue page leaf 159/160 is clipped out, the June issue is missing pages 271 through 274, the July issue is missing pages 327 through 330, the August issue is missing page leaf 383/384, the September issue is missing page leaf 439/440, the October issue has the page leaf 495/496 partially clipped, the November issue is missing page leaf 551/552 and the December issue is missing page leaf 607/608 with page leaf 679/680 partially clipped. That said, I have been through this book many times to correctly collate it and am very much so certain I found everything missing, though it is possible something slipped by, so please excuse this if it occurs.
Exterior of the book is overal lclean and well intact with some superficial splits to the front and back leather of the hinges that does not go through all the way to the inside front and back endpapers. Front and back covers are still well and firmly attached to the rest of the book. Leather spine face has some chipping, crackling and pocking along with scuffs to the boards or rubs to the boards or outer edges and corners. Interior of the book is overall very clean with some toning from age as well as light soiling, foxing or other handling or use wear like ink marginalia here and there throughout. Book\'s binding is tight and well intact and the book is overall complete aside for the above mentioned missing illustrations and pages. Book has no odors.
Book totals 692 pages followed by the index. Book measures approximately 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches and weighs about 2 pounds.
